Events Manager

Opolo Wines LP is seeking an experienced and dynamic Events Manager to take the lead in all onsite and private winery events. The ideal candidate will be not only responsible for managing daily operations, hosting special events, and supporting wine club events and corporate meetings, but also for driving sales to attract private event bookings and ensuring meticulous attention to detail in executing events to enhance our guest experience.

Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: $50,000 – $70,000 per year DOE with an attractive commission plan.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Create and achieve budgets, sales goals, and projections, along with providing Budget to Actual reports to management.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute all special events on the Hospitality Calendar.
  • Secure necessary rental equipment, vendors, and materials for events, including catering, décor, etc.
  • Manage and schedule events staff, including coordinators, assistants, and contractors.
  • Proactively engage in outreach to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, such as Destination Management Companies, Event Planners, and Corporate clients.
  • Maintain a database of special event clients and conduct follow-up calls and emails post events for feedback.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, corporate event coordinators, and winery vendors.
  • Participate in networking events to promote referral business
  • Work closely with the Tasting Room and Club Departments to enhance all aspects of the Opolo guest experience.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of successful management experience, ideally wine/hospitality related.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to educate and serve as a mentor.
  • 5-7 years of experience in hospitality and event management.
  • Proficiency in accounting, budgeting, and projections.
  • Advanced PC skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and equivalent software.
  • Demonstrate high levels of professionalism, customer service skills, and strong interpersonal communication.
  • Flexibility in weekly work schedule based on event timing.

 

The Events Manager will be responsible for managing and executing winery events. Additionally, they will oversee private events, and the management of event staff. Administrative responsibilities include office support, large group tasting reservations, and offering assistance across various teams within the winery.
