The legend of Opolo’s “Summit Creek” line continues to grow as Wine Spectator features the 2022 Summit Creek Zinfandel in its roundup of “7 Exciting California Zinfandels at 90+ Points.”
Our Summit Creek wines are renowned as perennial “best buys” and provide a welcome point into the world of Opolo Vineyards. They are widely available at Trader Joe’s, Albertsons, Costco, Total Wine, BevMo, Lucky Supermarkets, Raley’s, Ralphs and other retailers.
The Wine Spectator gave the 2022 Summit Creek Zinfandel ($19) a score of 90 points, with reviewer Tim Fish calling it “juicy and generous, with easygoing accents of cherry, toasty spices and briar patch that zip along the finish.” It was the only Paso Robles wine in the mix.
Fish writes in the story introduction, “Zinfandel lovers may bicker over which style is the best: bold and ripe or elegant and claret-like. But our latest Tasting Highlights showcases a selection of new releases that offer something for every fan. And no matter which style you prefer, these Zins, mainly from the excellent 2022 vintage, all notched 90 points or more on our 100-point scale.”
This good news comes at a time when our Summit Creek line is expanding with two inaugural offerings in early 2025—a Sauvignon Blanc and a non-vintage Red Blend. If you’re looking for unmatched quality and value from Paso Robles, look no further than our Summit Creek wines.
