The California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles is your classic summer destination for good old-fashioned fun, incredible concerts and, yes, wine tasting at the annual Central Coast Wine Competition awards event.
However, even if you can’t make it to this event, you can still experience a range of hometown favorites with Opolo.
Indeed, we are proud to share that numerous Opolo wines struck gold at the 2026 Central Coast Wine Competition. And because this competition focuses on wines from our peers here in Paso Robles, it’s always nice to see ours perform well amid such great company.
Going for Gold
This year, we secured two Double Gold Medals, including a Double Gold, Best in Class designation, and 98-point score for our 2021 Opolo Syrah Reserve Willow Creek District. The 2024 Opolo Willow Blanc Reserve Willow Creek District also earned Double Gold with a score of 96 points.
Other gold medal winners from Opolo included our 2025 Roussanne, 2025 Rosé, 2024 Summit Creek Zinfandel, Non-Vintage Summit Creek Red Blend, 2024 Grand Rouge Rhône Blend, and 2024 Cabernet Sauvignon.
