June 22 Adriatic Tour Opolo Update

Neka avanture počnu!

Let the adventures begin!

The first day in Belgrade began with a stop at St. Sava Temple, the largest orthodox church in the world. Construction on this iconic structure has been happening for over 100 years. We were able to see the newly finished Crypt with marble floors and gold covered ceilings. It was stunning!

The next stop was at the Museum of Yugoslav History and Tito’s Memorial where we learned about this region’s political history. In the afternoon, we walked through the Kalemegdon Fortress which over looks the confluence of The Sava and Danube Rivers. This beautiful park is filled with stone walls, canons and statues.

After the always entertaining Nikola Tesla museum, we dined on the Sava River at an amazing floating restaurant. Rick surprised us with folklore dancing, a sunset cruise along the river and and an evening of entertainment that will be remembered for a lifetime! It was a great first day and I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings for the group!
