The Reserve Willow Cuvée is our ode to the classic Right Bank Bordeaux style, where Merlot takes center stage. This Merlot-driven blend is composed of classic Bordeaux varieties, with fruit sourced predominantly from our Willow Creek District estate during the exceptional 2021 vintage.
As an Opolo Reserve wine, this cuvée was crafted exclusively from pure free-run juice and aged in the finest French oak barrels, allowing the wine’s natural character to shine with precision and finesse.
Tasting Notes & Blend
This wine stands out for its complexity and elegance. Merlot provides an expansive, silky freshness, while the supporting varietals contribute depth and structure:
Merlot – the foundation, offering smoothness and approachability
Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) – adds structure and intensity
Malbec (17%) – contributes rich fruit and color
Petit Verdot (6%) – enhances depth and aromatic complexity
The result is a wine that is aromatic and inviting, yet layered with impressive depth beneath the surface—equally enjoyable now or with time in the cellar.
