Job Title: 2026 Opolo Lab Intern
Job Duration: August through December
Compensation: $19-22 per hour, based on experience. 1.5x overtime pay.
Opolo Vineyards is seeking a harvest laboratory associate to join our team for the 2026 harvest season. As a harvest lab intern, you will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of winemaking while learning from a highly motivated and dynamic production team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties to include but not limited to…
Conducting key analyses (alcohol, pH, TA, VA, ML, RS, SO2, phenolics).
• Monitoring fermentation procedures and helping to implement them.
• Preparing and inoculating yeast, malolactic cultures, and other additions.
• Setting up, calibrating, and operating lab equipment—both automated analyzers and traditional wet chemistry methods.
• Preparing reagents, standards, and solutions for analysis.
• Collecting and analyzing samples from tanks, barrels, and bins.
• Monitoring alcoholic and malolactic fermentations.
• Performing lab trials and recording data in Excel.

The candidate must be punctual and be prepared to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, day shifts, night shifts, and holidays. Students must take off the fall semester to be eligible for this position. You must have a reliable means of transportation and a clean driving record.
• All candidates will need to be fit and capable of working long hours, lift weights up to 50lbs, and endure extended periods of time walking, standing, and climbing ladders. All safety protocols must be adhered to while employed by Opolo Wines. Candidates must have reliable means of transportation and a clean driving record.
