2022 Reserve Remo Belli Zinfandel
Remo Belli Vineyard is a mainstay in the Opolo Reserve program, providing an unparalleled expression of Zinfandel from the Adelaida District. The 2022 vintage offers a generous nose of cherry, plum, olallieberry pie, and toasted oak with undercurrents of white mushroom and loam. High in volume and texture, the mouthfeel is loaded with spicy raspberry and blackberry flavors accented by cedar, anise, chapparal, and blue fruit. Black pepper notes deliver a pitch-perfect varietal signature to a juicy, lively finish. Fire up the grill and enjoy it with veggie kabobs, Santa Maria BBQ, and peppered beef ribs.
2023 Reserve Primitivo
Primitivo is known as an Italian variety, while Zinfandel is native to California, but both are clones of the Croatian grape called Crljenak Kaštelanski. Yet while Primitivo and Zinfandel are joined at the genetic hip, our estate-grown Primitivo shows that there are more distinctions than name alone. The 2023 vintage displays a beautiful bouquet of violets, red fruits, and dried cherry with suggestions of cocoa powder and white raisin. Flashy acidity floods the mouth with red fruits, strawberry, wildberry, and fresh-cut cedar. Spicy flourishes linger on a vivid, focused finish. A great match for arrabbiata pasta, grilled sausage, and pulled pork.
2018 Reserve Adelaida Zinfandel
We are thrilled to share this rare Zinfandel selection from the Opolo library, which has been carefully aged to perfection for your enjoyment. A nuanced bouquet of mixed berries, sage, and loam reveals notes of truffle and cola. The palate is jammy and expansive with integrated flavors of cherry, plum, and white pepper. The graceful maturity of the wine is expressed in trailing hints of mint, citrus, and brown spices that imbue the palate with a complexity that can only come with age. Chewy textures and lingering spiciness guide the wine toward a soft, elegant finish. Savor it with black truffle pasta, wine-braised pork, and black pepper chicken.
